Yes I’m still fashioning my meditation dream. Recently my at home DIY attempts have proved a tad challenging, as life once more takes a frantic run towards June 30. There’s only one thing to do, enlist the help of others.
Sitting in the serene meditation hall surrounded by 300 like-minded people I settled in. The evening began with the usual dimming of the lights, final fidgets, coughs and three long, deep breaths.

Twenty minutes on and life was good. My shoulders had dropped to the position they occupied at birth, rather than the ear-hugging spot they’d become accustomed to over the past few years. My breath no longer mirrored a hip-hop beat and I was beginning to lose awareness of my body …bliss. And then …
‘Turn right’, an incredibly loud crisp voiced woman demanded.
She can’t mean me I thought, and so continued on trying not to break my concentration.
‘Turn right’, she insisted
Again I tried to ignore her, and pushed back the myriad of extremely unkind thoughts flooding my brain. Be kind I reminded myself, you never know it might be a case of turrets.
‘Turn right!!!’
By the fifth request at least half of the room had indeed turned right, our eyes wide open as we searched the darkness for the culprit. Quickly pinpointing the voice, we all watched as one highly exacerbated middle aged man franticly fidgeted in his trouser pocket, trying to locate his mobile phone and eradicate the insistent GPS demands.
After much discreet giggling, and the slightest smirk from the meditation master, the room returned to bliss.
On my relaxed drive home I pondered whether it had indeed been an innocent mistake, or a cosmic calling for the days ahead. So I suggest that if you find yourself approaching a aroundabout, and encounter a stream of 300 people caught in a loop endlessly turning right, at least you’ll know why. I ponder the worst that can happen is we’ll all just end up disappearing up our own karmic intent. Ommmmm.
