Movie Review: Bride Hard

Bride Hard the movie would be a good Hen’s Night movie, just don’t expect the same yippee ki yay as the original Die Hard.

Bride Hard

Sam’s (Rebel Wilson) best friend from childhood Betsy (Anna Camp) is getting married. Trouble is Sam’s job means she hasn’t been a very good or even present friend. Unable to explain her continued absence at important events, Sam is sacked from being Maid of Honor.

Humiliated Sam hangs out at the back of the lavish wedding, a who’s who of the business world. Things are going to plan until a group of mercenaries arrive and take wedding guests hostage.

Having nipped out of the wedding for a moment, Sam is the only guest not taken hostage. It’s up to her to save the day, but to do so she must expose herself as a secret agent.

As the cinema lights came up, I pondered:

  1. The movie is peppered with one-liners which had a fair wack of the audience giggling. However at times the storyline seems to be in the way of the one-liners;
  2. If you like Happy Gilmore you’ll enjoy Wilson’s female version;
  3. Good for a drunken Hen’s Night.
